Magnolia Grove Monastery, July 25th 2012

Dear friends on the path,

On behalf of the brothers and sisters of Magnolia Grove Monastery, we kindly wish you and your loved ones much peace and happiness.

Dear friends, breathing in we are aware clearly that we are alive, breathing out we smile to life surrounding us. That is a condition of happiness. Magnolia Grove is more than 2 years old when 32 monks and nuns resided permanently in early 2010. Since then, we have received lots of love and care from you that support us in many ways. We are grateful from the love you have given to us. Last September when Thầy and the international Sangha came to Magnolia to organize the mindfulness retreat for 1000 people, we witnessed many American and Vietnamese retreatants transformed their suffering into happiness, peace and joy. Quite number of friends had to listen to the dharma talk outside because the 6000sq feet rented tent was not large enough to accommodate 1000 friends. As you could see, conditions were not very sufficient at that time. Therefore, before leaving Magnolia Grove Monastery, Thầy suggested us to build a big meditation hall in order for the practitioners can have a proper place to practice when Thầy arrives in September 2013. For that reason, we would like to share to you the good new that in mid July of this year, we will begin the project so it can be ready when Thầy returns to Magnolia. The new meditation hall will be 10,000square feet, which will allow us to practice sitting meditation, listen to the Dharma Talks for 800-900 people.

Therefore, we kindly ask for your support in helping us to build this meditation hall. This is one of the wonderful ways we can deepen our practice as well as for our children to have a place to return home to themselves, to get in touch with the spiritual path. This is a wonderful investment right now and for the future to be possible. The total cost is about $800,000 and we have raised $175,000. But with each individual hand will make this dream come true and can be finished earlier. You can invite your children, nieces and nephews to donate $10-$50 so the new meditation hall can be a collective gift and it's also remind our children to share the love to the monastery. All donations will be tax deductible. You will receive a respond within 1-2 weeks.

Please provide us your full name, mailing address, email address and phone number when sending your donation so that we can provide a receipt for the tax-deductible donation.
