The Monastic Brothers and Sisters at Magnolia Grove Monastery warmly invite you to join us on for the Day of Mindfulness on Thursdays and Sundays. Let us come together as a Four-Fold Sangha, helping to cultivate the mind of love, watering the positive seeds in each one of us, and learning the art of living peacefully and joyfully with ourselves and our loved ones.
Tentative schedule for Day of Mindfulness :
Thursday:
5:30 - Sitting meditation & chanting
6:30 - Walking meditation
7:30 - Breakfast
9:00am - Dharma talk
12:00pm - Lunch
3:00pm - Dharma sharing/happiness meeting/questions and answers/watch documentary
Sunday:
5:30am- Sitting meditation & chanting
7:00am - Breakfast
8:30am- Walking meditation
9:45am- Dharma talk
11:30am- Precepts recitation (1st Sunday - The Five Mindfulness Training, 3rd Sunday - The Fourteen Mindfulness Trainings)/ Dharma sharing (2nd and 4th Sundays)
1:00pm - Formal lunch
2:00pm - Total relaxation (if conditions are favorable :))
A few things to keep in mind to make your day more enjoyable and fruitful.
- If it is your first time visiting us, we kindly ask you to arrive at 8:00am, which would allows us to share some basic practices with you so that your stay could be more pleasant and beneficial.
- Please arrive early so that you can enjoy a cup of tea, listen to the birds singing before joining the activity.
- Please wear appropriate attire (i.e. long sleeve shirt (shirt covering shoulders), long pants (below the knees)...).
- Please bring a warm coat and proper shoes for outdoor walking meditation.
We appreciate donation which would help us cover cost of electricity and food for the day.
